Antonio Saba’s “Chasing Beauty”, curated by the famous art critique Vittorio Sgarbi, is a coffee table book featuring the Italian photographer’s most outstanding work of the past few years. Whatever Milan managed several photo shoot productions, offering creative support and attending every stage of the overall production process.
This shot was virtually impossible to achieve. In fact, the location had a humidity rate of 98%, incompatible with the digital technology needed to take the picture. After careful analysis of the environment and the equipment, we managed to invent an isolation method to protect the camera and a ventilation system that avoided the condensation effects.
Another noteworthy element: the make-up of the model. She was to impersonate a water nymph, a supernatural being from Greek and Roman mythology. The photographer imagined it as an amphibious creature, equipped with gills. To shape them we relied on the special skills of a movie make-up artist.
